hi all,

one of our customer has a CISCO881-SEC-K9 and also bought the SSL-VPN license for it.

The installation worked fine and our customer can also connect with a XP client flawlessly via SSL.

Only Win 7 doenst work and so i guess its because he is using an old anyconnect client. So now we would like to update it.

Question:

1) do i need a smartnet for that?

2)can i buy only the current anyconnect?

3)what makes more sense to buy only the anyconnect, if possible, or to buy a smartnet

4)is it likely that the anyconnect client is the problem?

if i connect via Win 7 i get the following error message: The installer was not able to start the Cisco SSL VPN Client.
Please contact your IT administrator for more information.

Thanks for any help!

Hello,

Well, if the version you are running is not supported via Windows 7 you will need to update that and in order to make it happen you will need to download the right anyconnect image and for that you need to have enough privileges so the Smartnet sounds like a requirement.

Regards,

Jcarvaja

Hi Jcarvaja,

i thought so. But what smartnet would work. Would need the smallest (cheapest) i can get.

in the service finder tool there are some columns but i think 3 of those are important:

OS Updates

Software Application Updates

Software Application Upgrades

what would the smartnet need to cover in order to be eligible to get the anyconnect client?

thanks
