topic firewall or just router in Network Security

We have recently acquired a new company and we are in the process of integrating them into our network. What we would like to happen is to allow 2 distinct subnets full access to our network, we do not plan to limit the applications or protocols passing from one network to the other, my thoughts are that we could just use a plain old router and use ACL's to limit access to the two subnets.

Thoughts?

Murray

Sent from Cisco Technical Support iPad App
