    <description>&lt;P&gt;Hi Guys,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I have a small douvt regarding PIX 525 running with &lt;SPAN style="font-size: 10pt;"&gt;8.0(4)28 and the failover status in both the devices is &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN style="font-size: 10pt;"&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;Active/Active.&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;When i am configuring the failover i issued the below commands &lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;EM&gt;failover lan unit &lt;STRONG&gt;primary&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/EM&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;EM&gt;failover lan interface folink Ethernet5&lt;/EM&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;EM&gt;failover key *****&lt;/EM&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;EM&gt;failover interface ip folink 192.168.1.1 255.255.255.0 standby 192.168.1.2&lt;/EM&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I have configured the lan unit as primary but it still it shows as secondary when i issue &lt;STRONG&gt;sh failover .&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;EM&gt;#sh failover&lt;/EM&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;EM&gt;Failover Off&lt;/EM&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;EM&gt;Cable status: My side not connected&lt;/EM&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN style="text-decoration: underline;"&gt;&lt;EM&gt;Failover unit Secondary&lt;/EM&gt;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;EM&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;As this is in production i just turned off the faiover again...&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/EM&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;can i know why it still shows as seconday when i issue the &lt;EM&gt;lan unit primary&lt;/EM&gt; command.....&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN style="text-decoration: underline;"&gt;Note - I didnt connect the failover cable while testing&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Regards,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Sandeep&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;I have not tried to switch things between primary and secondary before but someone from TAC mentioned to me before that once failover was configured, you cannot switch primary and secondary roles.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Sent from Cisco Technical Support Android App&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
