Hi Team,

We have Two Switches 6509 as core for our one Customer and both the Switches have FWSM modules, as per architecture FWSM module of core-1 is active and FWSM module of Core-2 working as standby.

We have scheduled Activity and conducted Power shutdown activity on Sat-26 Jan2013.During that we have faced problem related to standby FWSM as it is trying to become active and because of this internal local connections gets fluctuating and LAN was disturbed. We tried the troubleshot using command as No failover active to standby FWSM and after that all network connectivity get lost. Then we have shutdown standby FWSM module and rebooted primary core switch and started working of network properly.

Now the Active FWSM module is working and standby Module is kept shut down as this was becoming Active, please suggest on this issue as attaching here the show tech for both the Switches.

Regards,

Ashutosh

The switch configurations and show tech outputs aren't all that useful in troubleshooting the firewall service modules. We'd need to see their information to make an informed diagnosis.

Typically an FWSM will become active if it:

a. cannot detect its peer or

b. detects the per and the condition that a monitored interface on the peer is unavailable
