How Do I Name ASDM Devices?

This has bothered me for a long time and the last time I asked was several years ago. The device list in ASDM is built when one enters in the IP address or name to connect to a firewall. Other than editing my hosts file on my laptop, is there a way to add a name to the list of IPs in the ASDM Device List?

Thank you,

Jeff

I would love to see a solution for this indeed. Now I've created several shortcuts on my desktops with names and links to their ip addresses. But since we are managing several customers, it's getting harder to manage an overview of all the ASA's (I think we might be around 50 ASA's now).

A proper solution would be welcome.

Regards,

The only way to get names for

The only way to get names for connecting via ASDM is if you create DNS A records that resolve to the IP addresses. Other than that, you would need to do as you already have done by editing the host file.
