wccp ntlm asa ironport only works with internet explorer

Hi all,

I configured an asa to redirect http traffic to an ironport device via wccp.

The ironport is supposed to authenticate via ntlm sso, but it works only with internet explorer.

I did a network trace and the first answer to both browsers is the same, ie 401 auth required.

Internet explorer starts ntlm negociation, but the other browsers I tested (firefox and opera)

send a popup for login and password.

Asa runs 8.0, and ironport runs 7.1.0 version.

Is there a way to have the ntlm works with other browsers ?

this depends on the browser. I never tried this myself (so not sure if or how well it works) but a quick google search led me to this:
