      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hi Guys,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I want to configure failover between two ASA's. Do I have to use a switch between them to configure failover. I know in earlier days it was a must to have a switch between the pix's to configure failover. How about with the ASA's Do I need to have a switch between them to configure failover.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Tks&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;As Collin saifd you probably want to use a switch.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;You don't want a situation where one failover interface on one of the ASAs fails and both think that theirs failed because they saw their interface went down.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;With the siwtch going down that situation would happen only if both the switch interfaces went down (not likely).&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I hope it helps.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;PK&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
