Is there any way to save more than 4 snmp server hosts on an ASA 5505?

I can add more than 4 but if I try to save then I get an error. Is this a bug?

Sunil, I have 5 snmp server hosts without any issues.. I am at code 8.x, do you get save error from asdm or cli, what is the exact error you are getting ?

this is my config from show run

snmp-server host inside 10.168.100.38 community public

snmp-server host inside 10.2.2.244 community public

snmp-server host inside 10.3.2.244 community public

snmp-server host inside 10.6.7.24 community public

snmp-server host inside 192.168.14.44 community public

My version is 7.2(2)

the ios is asa722-k8.bin

Looks like I need to upgrade.... I get the error from the cli... the gui (asdm) does not give any error.. I dont believe the ADSm is as reliable as yet (good for normal config ...but not all)

This is the error I get if I add a fifth snmp server using cli and try to save

%Error reading system:/running-config (Configuration line too long)

Error executing command

[FAILED]

'wr mem' fails due to snmp config; Error: (Configuration line too long)

Symptom:

If snmp-server commands are configured, in a rare corner case

the configuration might fail to save to flash and give the error like below:

pix# wr mem

Cryptochecksum: ee8f5816 e1ce1ad7 83151424 f1a3b6fc %Error

reading system:/running-config (Configuration line too long)

Error executing command [FAILED]

Conditions:

The firewall must have snmp-server commands configured and running

version 7.2(1)25 or greater (includes 7.2(2)).

Workaround:

Remove the snmp-server commands from the configuration

-or-

downgrade to a version of code previous to 7.2(1)25

Thanks Jorge for teh bug id.

But rather than downgrade as Cisco suggests I will try the version you are using (8) as you seem to have it working.

The upgrade to 8.0 is fairly straight forward, I was running 7.2 and went straight to latest code 8.03 without issues.

Don't forget to upgrade the ASDM as well, bellow is the information.
