Skrao,

Well to tell you the truth ASA is like a next generation PIX. They actually run the same OS at this time but the pix models will eventually be phased out.

Some of the new highlights for the ASA. Anti-X Edition removes malware, spyware, spam, and phishing attempts from e-mail and Internet traffic, helping to ensure maximum business continuity and securityg for virus like files being transferred.

Basically the ASA is like its call an Adaptive Security Appliance that doesn't just do firewalling and IPS.

More ASA INFO:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps6120/prod_brochure_list.html

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps6120/index.html

Patrick

MARS and ASA are completely different products

ASA is firewall with IPsec, routing, IDS etc. support

MARS is "only" powerful security monitoring tools, more info

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps6241/index.html

M.

Rate helpful post
