If it is important to you that the syslog be encrypted, then I believe that you will need to configure VPN.

HTH

Rick

Hello,

Is there any way to encrypt syslog/snmp traps from a Cisco IOS device over the internet. I know I can create a IPsec VPN from the router itself to a remote firewall, but I do not want to take this route. Is there an inherant IOS feature to encrypt logging functions for device that hang directly on the internet?

thanks!

Lee
