Cisco ISE server

Running Cisco ISE on a VM and when I enable client authentication and tried to login using my smart card I revice a HTTPS 500 internal error and it stated to check the log. When looking at the log I get the following error:

124 ERROR [admin-http-pool10] cpm.admin.infra.utils.CertAuthservice-:::::-certificate-based authentication failed. result = FAILED, validationResult =BAD, processFailedreason = NO_PROCESS_FAILURE

has anyone seeing this error before? Also when running the application start ise safe command from the CLI so I can bypass certificate authentication it still does not allow me to log in. So now I am forced to revert back from a snapshot we took.

Anyone have any ideas?

Hi Paul-

A couple of questions:

1. What version of ISE are you running

2. Do you have all of the required VM resources assigned to the ISE vm

3. You are getting this error when trying to login to the ISE gui?

Thank you for rating helpful posts!

Hmm, I have never seen this

Hmm, I have never seen this before. It sounds like you might have some issues with the DB. I would recommend that:

1. Make sure that you have a current backup of your database.

2. Open a TAC case

3. Let us know what TAC says

Thank you for rating helpful posts!
