Network with ASA-5510 - the advantages of using web caching are obvious.

On this I have a couple of questions:

- To enable Web caching, I have to implement a server, such as SQUID, right ?

- I have also to force the Proxy be all che users, or can I avoid it ?

- Is there is a performance improvement by enabling WCCP?

Claudio,

ASA can use WCCP and squid is probably the open source cacheing proxy.

WCCP gives you simplicity of configuration and deployment, but does require that packets going out hit ASA before going to proxy server.

Also, WCCP implmentation on ASA is limited to u-turning traffic on same interface (or at least it used to be last time I was reading about it).
