FirePOWER installation

Hey everyone

I have ordered FirePOWER for my 5555-X and recived a SSD disk and a PAK number.

I think I heard somewhere that i need two 120SSD disks, I only have one. Is it enough ?

And is this the correct order:

1. Shutdown/uninstall old IPS

2. Insert SSD

3. Reload

4. Install FirePOWER

Thanx

J.

The 5555-X is designed to be

The 5555-X is designed to be used with two SSDs in a RAID 1 array.

It will work with one but will not have RAID protection.

(edit - corrected Raid type to "1".)

The hardware installation

The hardware installation guide says "You can install two SSDs in a RAID 1 configuration in the ASA 5545-X and ASA 5555-X. "

Reference:

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/security/asa/hw/maintenance/5500xguide/5500xhw/asa_procs.html#pgfId-1108551

Note it doesn't say you MUST. I do know it will work if one fails after the system has been built. However the documentation doesn't explicitly address your use case.
