llerch,

The Cisco engineer was most likely quoting from some internal benchmarks that are not published for public release.

I cannot share them under NDA but you should be able to contact your Channel Account Manager or SE to get access to the benchmarks. The platform recommendation can then be presented to the customer as needed to inform specific designs having taken into account the overall requirements set.

ASA-5500-X Firepower Services Performance Benchmarks needed

Our end users are asking us as a reseller of Cisco security devices, what our preference is regarding speed and load. I would initially think from Cisco's specs that the 5506-X could work for him (although the 5508-X is clearly faster).

A Cisco engineer emailed one of our customers that the "The ASA5512 is rated for 100Mbps with just IPS, 75Mbps with IPS + AVC and 50Mbsp with IPS+AVC+AMP." I don't see this information on any of the comparisons between the ASA models.

Specifically,What I'd like to know is what is the rating between the different ASA models (5506-X, 5508-X, 5512-X, 5515-X, 5516-X) when filtering IPS+AVC+AMP? This information would be very helpful in sizing these ASA's for clients. Could you please get us the definitive information of the performance?

What can you offer us on the performance across the ASA models?
