our company bought one pix firewall 515 from EBAY on line shopping. we configure the firewall and it is working fine but we notice that 3DES is disable in our firewall i contact the cisco licence to get the 3des licence they send the activation-key i applied to my firewall and it works but problem came the my firewall became failover over and secondry, if i change back my old activation key it is working fine without failover

can anybody help to change that firewall secondry to primary firewall

so that i can you use 3des licence

Need some more info about ur setup there.

1.are you having 2 Pix firewalls with failover configured ?

2.Are you having only single firewall and seeing that becoming secondary ??

do throw some more clarity on those parts..

Hello yaseen,

I hope you had downloaded the 3DES activation key from :

https://tools.cisco.com/SWIFT/Licensing/RegistrationServlet

Normally, any such licensing key will not deactivate other services on the device. your case looks strange. i advice you to mail licensing@cisco.com and check on this.
