Error when upgrading from 8.2 to 8.3 or 8.4

Hi Team,

Recently I tried upgrading from 8.2 to 8.3 and/or 8.4 and I encountered the following error:

........ERROR: failed to generate command for replication

*** Output from config line 1272, "group-policy GroupPolicy..."

The upgrade goes through, but this error keeps coming up.

I manaually reviewed the confifgurations to verify if there was any syntex error, perhaps somthing that 8.3/8.4 wouldn't like and so far I haven't got anything.

If anyone has encoutered similar error, please advise if this has got any impact of the ASA operation.

Hi All,

I just got to the bottom of this:

The error was specifically on the following line: group-policy GroupPolicy1 external server-group MY_AUTH_SERV

In my aaa-server configurations I had this: aaa-server MY_AUTH_SERV protocol ldap

I got the answer from the 8.4 (also in 8.2 ) configuration guide (see below):

Therefore, this wouldn't have happened if my aaa-server group type was RADIUS (see more details on the configuration guide)
