I have asked about this before but did not really get a conclusive answer - so here goes again...

I currently have a PIX 515 running OS 6.2(2), now the problem I have encountered is as follows:

When I disable the mail guard feature by issuing: no fixup protocol smtp 25 - it does not seem to work as when I telnet to the outside IP address that is listening for smtp data I obtain the usual mail guard response i.e.

220 ****** response!!

I have checked the bug track tool but cannot find anything relating to the above issue, has anyone come across this or know of a resolution apart from upgrading to 6.3

Many thanks -
