PIX 515 E FO Bundle issue

Hi all

i have a problem with pix 515E.

i have a pix-515e restricted bundle.thru licence upgrade now its a UR pix.and for failover i have purchased a PIX-515E-FO-BUN, this pix i want to use as a standby PIX,and i configured everything perfectly for stateful failover.but the FO-BUN PIX OS version is 6.3(5) the active one is 6.3(4) so it poped up error message saying os version diff.

now i want to downgrade to 6.3(4) now the situation is to both inside and outside its not pinging,the FO bundle pix is giving a warning message standby is not ready or something.

is there anything like in this type scenario the FO-BUN should be Active or something pls help.

Hi Binoy,

If you are willing to downgrade the FO unit, you will need to temporarely turn it to an active unit in order for you to access the unit (i.e. ping the interfaces and copy from/to TFTP).

You will need to use the command:

pixfirewall(config)#failover active

on the FO unit.
