Pix 501 not using startup-config

after an password recovery the pix is not using the startup-config anymore. The running-config is taken from an other file which i dont know.

Write mem command does add changes to the startup-config but after power off/on the running-config is again taken from the notknown(for me) file.

I havn't found help on the web, maybee someone here does have a solution?

kindly upload the output of "sh flash" and "sh version".

Hello,

when you do a ´copy running-config startup-config´ on your PIX instead, do you see the name of the startup file in your flash ?

very good idea but:

pixfirewall# copy running-config startup-config

Usage: copy capture: tftp:/// [pcap]

copy http[s]://[:@][:]/

flash[:[image | pdm]]

copy tftp[:[[//location][/pathname]]] flash[:[image | pdm]]

pixfirewall# copy flash:running-config flash:startup-config

Usage: copy capture: tftp:/// [pcap]

copy http[s]://[:@][:]/

Looks like the file names are lost and this is the reason why the pix isn't using the right config.

Any other idea?
