topic MTU settings large image files pix 2000 server in Network Security

I have a 2000 server that offers MRI images to remote clients. From this site I have a vpn useing a pix at the remote.

Telnet, Ping, and http works, sending images does not, I suspect this is an MTU issue, do I need to change the MTU at both the host and the client or just the host? Any further instructions would be appretiated

Host=2000 Server - Netcreen MTUs are default accross

Client=Unix based MRI machine -Cisco PIX

The MRI machine sends images to the the 2000 server on port 7777. Again telnet, ping, email, all work. Its just sending the images which I think may have something to do with large packets.

I have been playing with the mtu on the PIX currently it is at 1400. All of the lines are Internet T1's.

Any ideas?

Leave the MTU at its default value of 1500 bytes.

Set the sysopt statement to it's default:

sysopt connection tcpmss 1380

Allow ICMP unreachables on both ends.

Check the logs!
