just wondering if there is any specific reason why you would prefer the primary to be the active as soon as it backup; as cisco doesn't recommend this operation.

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/vpndevc/ps2030/products_tech_note09186a0080094ea7.shtml#failback

anyhow, to force the "fail back",

do "failover active" on the standby unit or "no failover active" on the active unit

I have two 515 failover pix firewall.

one is primary and other is secondary or standby.

when primary firewall power fail then secondary is active

and again when secondary is power fail then primary is again active.

But one guy informed me, the pix firewall has configure that primary always active.

like example:

when primary firewall power fail then secondary is active

and again when primary is power on then primary is again active.

that means if power is avilable then primary firewall is alaways active.

any expert know about this or configure it ?.

or its wrong ?

Thanks

Biplob
