topic Secondary IP outside interface PIX in Network Security

I have PIX 515 with a static address on the outside interface. I also have multiple sites with IPSEC connections to that pix. I want to provide some WAN redundancy with a second ISP. This requires me to have a second static address on the outside interface, is this possible? There appears to be no "secondary" address as in router IOS.

No, the PIX does not support a secondary IP address on the interface but you can use VLAN's to accomplish that.

sincerely

Patrick

I have added a VLAN to the outside interface but am unable to connect out over it.The IP is a routable address behind a ISDN router. The normal network connection is DSL. What I want to arhieve is a backup link if the DSL fails. Is this the best approach?

i guess the vlan virtual interface works only if a proper vlan is configured on a switch/rotuer, which connects to the particular pix interface.
