topic bin files (pix 501) open improperly in Network Security

Hi folks...this is my first time on here but it looks like i'm going to be on these forums a lot, at least till I can figure out how to get the info I need to trace an intruder. When I first received the pix 501 I had no problem loading the PDM. When I try to setup the software or the pdm program it opens as a "bootvis" file and says file wrong format....how do I repair the *.bin file association so that I can open the files on the CD?

Thanks, Hypnotist

the .bin files are firmware files. You don't open them. The pix uses two .bin files these days - one for the actual operating system of the pix, and one for the pdm functionality. To admin the pix, you use a web browser to use the pdm, or ssh, or a console cable to the console port
