topic PIX 506e PDM connection in Network Security

My organization uses a PIX 506e firewall, and I cannot connect to the PDM. I looked at the firewall configuration via telnet and noticed that the http server is pointing to the correct IP address, however the netmask is 255.255.255.255 whereas the NIC on the web server subnet says 255.255.255.0 do these need to match in order for the PDM to work? I use the https://inside_ip_address of the firewall in IE browser but get a page cannot be displayed message.

The Cisco Pix hardware version is 6.1<4> and the Pix Device Manager Version is 1.1<2>. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks

The mask is not the problem here. With 255.255.255.255, you are allowing to access PDM to that IP address only.

Have you put the 'http server enable' command in your config?

Regards.

Thank you for responding. Yes I do have http server enabled. I did however find the problem, the clock was off. I reset the PIX clock and then the PDM worked with no problem afterwards.

Thanks Again
