Hi,

i have a Cisco ASA 5550 with firmware version 8.2.

I have read the documentation about the static routing tracking feature.

Is this feature working if i set two static routes with different metrics to the same destination subnet, but one route is applied on the inside interface and the other route is applied on the outside interface. My deployment is inside my company, this is not an internet border firewall.

Thanks.

Yes, it should work.

So you configure two static routes to the same desitnation with different metric. The one with low metric will be installed in the routing table and the other one will be the backup. Static route tracking will track the one in the routing table and remove it based on the tracking. After removing it, the backup one will be populated into routing table.
