cannot config ip address on asa5580 interfaces

Hello,

I'm trying to configure ip address on an interface on asa5580, but failed to finish it as there is no "ip address " command at all.

It says when typing "?" under the interface configuration mode:

asa5580# conf t
asa5580(config)# int m0/0
asa5580(config-if)# ?

Interface configuration commands:
default      Set a command to its defaults
description Interface specific description
duplex       Configure duplex operation
exit         Exit from interface configuration mode
help         Interactive help for interface subcommands
no           Negate a command or set its defaults
shutdown     Shutdown the selected interface
speed        Configure speed operation

Not sure if I need to enable certain feature? What should I do before configuring ip address on asa5580?

If you do "show firewall" are you in transparent mode?

Any aaa authorization applied?

I've changed the mode to "router" in the ASA, but still no "ip address" command available there:

asa5580# sh firewall
Firewall mode: Router
asa5580# conf t
asa5580(config)# int m0/0
asa5580(config-if)# ?

Could you do a "sh mode" and make sure the firewall is running in single mode.

Looks like it is configued in multi mode in which case you need to create contexts, allocate interface and then get into the context and configure IP addresses.
