Telnet to PIX through outside interface

Is there a way to telnet into PIX frewall through the outside interface?

SSH is a valid method to access in, however I wonder if there is another way of doing it. PDM is another tool for the access and changing the configuration.

Any help will be useful.

You can telnet to the outside interface of pix if you are coming through a vpn tunnel.

I'm pretty sure that Telent directly to the outside interface of a PIX is not available. It's such a big security risk that it isn't offered as an option.

SSH is a much better way to go (even if it is only SSH1).

You could probably VPN into your network and Telnet from the inside.

As mentioned, you can telnet to the outside, if you're coming through a VPN tunnel, so it's as secure as your IPSec encryption. Nevertheless, I'd agree that ssh is a much better solution.

You can telnet directly to the outside interface but only through a vpn connection. Unless you only have des on your pix which is 56 bit, then ssl's 128 bit encryption is a better choice if you dont wanna cough up the $ for the 3 des license. Otherwise with 3des (168 bit) or soon to be released AES(192, 256 bit) encrytpion, you decide.
