You need a valid license in order to apply signature updates.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;You may obtain a ONE-TIME-ONLY 60 day trail license for each sensor you own (the licenses are sensor specific so can not be transferred between sensors)&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Software updates can still be applied to the sensor, even with an expired license. Each software update also includes the current signature pack as of the release date of the software update. Frequently software updates include new signature engines and brand new signatures with those engines. The first release of these new signatures are "less than perfect" and sometimes noisy, so require a little more tuning work than your standard signature update.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;- Bob&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hi,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;My customer got a error while installed new IPS signature : &lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;&lt;SPAN class="Apple-style-span" style="border-collapse: collapse;"&gt;Cannot upgrade software on the sensor.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;&lt;SPAN class="Apple-style-span" style="border-collapse: collapse;"&gt;Target system's license date is too old to process the config with the version S561.0&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;&lt;SPAN class="Apple-style-span" style="border-collapse: collapse;"&gt;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;&lt;SPAN class="Apple-style-span" style="border-collapse: collapse;"&gt;I guess the license key was expired and not installed new license key to IPS.
