We have two ASA5520 firewalls configured as active/failover, both firewalls are identical in hardware and software. Currently this are NO issues with this setup.

We want to separate these two firewalls and use each as an active ASA5520 firewall independent from the other. I.E. No failover option.

As I read through the Cisco Security Appliance CLI guide, I see there are many issue with setting the two devices into Active/Failover mode but not seeing anything on separating them.

Anyone have experience performing this task and things to look out for, licensing issues, etc.?

Thank you

Frank
