I have two Cisco ASA 5520 firewalls (Active/Standby) running with software version 8.2(1)11 version

I have encountered a problem while saving the configuration . The memory utilisation is hig 84%

So, I have issued some commands to see the memory utilization on firewalls.
the output was
as follows
show mem
ASA# sh memory
Free memory: 91015464 bytes (17%)
Used memory: 445855448 bytes (83%)

ASA# sh mem detail
Free memory: 91180528 bytes (17%)
Used memory:
Allocated memory in use: 338113040 bytes (63%)
     Reserved memory: 107577344 bytes (20%)
----------------------------- ----------------
Total memory: 536870912 bytes (100%)

Finally i disable run threat-detection to free some memory but after the reboot has the same memory utilisation .

What the reserved memory in Sh Memory detail output means

Is upgrade of memory the only solution in this situation or any other workaround possible (like clearing threat-detection)

Which oS should i upgrade as i can see many ceveats open with current version and memory is also one of them
