topic ASA LAN Based Failover in Network Security

Hi,

I am using ASA 5540 and trying to implement LAN Based Active/Standby Failover using Management Interface. It seems that failover is possible but not the Stateful failover. Can anybody confirm me... about it that using Mngt interface I can not do Stateful Failover??

Thanks in Advance.

Adnan

You should be able to configure stateful failover with the ASA5540s. This is not supported only in the ASA5505s.

Pls. follow this link for sample config.

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/security/asa/asa80/configuration/guide/failover.html#wp1064158

Hi Adnan,

To use the management interface for non-management traffic, you need to

remove the command 'management-only' from the interface configuration.

At that point you should be able to use that interface like any other

hth

Stefan
