Hi,

I've a IDSM-2 module (installed on a Catalyst 6500).

This module is PowerDown; when I issue the command "power enable module .." the module can't be on line. I see this message on logging: %C6KPWR-SP-4-DISABLED: power to module in slot .. set off (Module Failed SCP dnld).

I've tried to remove and put the module, but the problem continues...

Any ideas?

Thank you.

Best regards.

Massimiliano.

Hi

First check that you have enough power installed to run the IDSM

Apart from that it could be that you have a maintenance software that is to old or that there is some problem with the application partition. I've seen that error message from a FWSM and that led me to replace the entire module.

Please see the posts for suggestions

http://forum.cisco.com/eforum/servlet/NetProf?page=netprof&forum=Security&topic=Intrusion%20Prevention%20Systems/IDS&topicID=.ee6e1fc&fromOutline=&CommCmd=MB%3Fcmd%3Ddisplay_location%26location%3D.2cc180e2

http://forum.cisco.com/eforum/servlet/NetProf?page=netprof&forum=Network%20Infrastructure&topic=LAN%2C%20Switching%20and%20Routing&topicID=.ee71a04&fromOutline=&CommCmd=MB%3Fcmd%3Ddisplay_location%26location%3D.1ddccb75

Regards

Fredrik
