Prudent config I have on there:

logging enable

logging mail errors

logging from-address x@y.com

logging recipient-address a@b.com level errors

smtp-server 10.1.1.1

So far no emails are getting to me. I've run 'debug smtp-client' and all I get is "lookup_and_connect: Socket connect failed for primary host 10.1.1.1".

My colleague on the mail relay server says he is seeing nothing at all 😞

I've turned off 'inspect esmtp' and that didn't help either.

Can anyone help me?

Thanks

Yes I can ping it fine. I have IP connectivity. The email syslogging is just not leaving the ASA 😞

All sorted! It was my mail relay server that was the problem not my ASA config 🙂

I pointed to a different one et voila.
