topic logging problem in ASA-SSM-20 in Network Security

Hi,

We have this module ASA-SSM-20 installed on our ASA 5520 appliance. I am able to login in ASA device but when i am doing session 1. It is asking login : after giving username and password it is not accepting the username. This module is installed in slot 1 on ASA appliacne.

Is it necessary that a seperate username and password is to be configured on this module ? Even it must be there as i used to login regularly to see the events and TCP reset connections.

But now suddenly it has stopped to accept the usernames. Is there any way to recover the usernames and passwords.

do we need to install any software module seperately on disk to recover the username and password. ?

any link on cisco.com / experience please share.

Thanks in advance.

Subodh

Hi,

For all intensive purposes, you can treat the SSM module as a seperate piece of security equipment. It therefore requires it's own configuration, including username and password.

The default username and password on the AIP-SSM module is:

U: cisco

P: cisco

You should then be prompted to change the password immediately.

Once this is complete, you will probable need to run the setup wizrd using the 'setup' command, or you could configure the module manually.

Good luck!
