IDSM-2 SPN port config

Hello:

I am in the process of setting up the IDSM-2 and little confused on setting up the monitoring ports...According to the guide...

the source port is settup as:

router(config)# monitor session 1 source interface GigabitEthernet2/10 both

the SPAN destination is setup as:

router(config)# monitor session 1 destination intrusion-detection-module 9 data-port 1

Now, how do I configure the SPAN to monitor only a selected VLANs? and the direction (rx, tx, both) to monitor?

Use the command monitor session 1 filter vlan xx to only include the VLANs you want to monitor. Regarding the direction of traffic, RX TX or both is set on a per interface basis so in your case you can't set up source g2/10 to VLAN 2 rx and VLAN 3 TX at the same time.
