ASA IPSec traffic not able to access servers in "outside" network

I have hundreds of IPSec tunnels terminating to (2) ASA 5540's running 8.0(4) code. All IPSec traffic seems to route properly. However recently a server was added to the same network as where the "outside" interface of the ASA's are located. IPSec users are not able to access the server, but normal LAN users are. I have verified that tunnel routes should come all the way into the LAN, however I suspect that the connected route might be taking precedence over the tunnel route. I have also verified NAT. Is it possible for IPSec traffic to access resources in the "outside" network? I know our older VPN 3005 was able to do this. Thanks in advance.
