I do not think it is possible, because from ASA's point of view SSM is seen as an external device so when the analysis engine fails the ASA will not failover to the backup.

ASA failover when AIP-SSM-10 analysis engine stops?

All I am able to find when researching a stoppage of the analysis engine on an AIP-SSM-10 are the off/on/auto settings. My goal is to keep all traffic inspected all the time. Is there a setting to have the whole ASA failover to its backup when the IPSM module analysis engine stops?
