Greetings -

Trying to access my slingbox from the internet. Unable to do so. I just want to make certain that my forwading looks good.

I miss anything essential from this snippet on my pix 501?

access-list SLINGBOX permit udp any interface outside eq 5001

access-list SLINGBOX permit tcp any interface outside eq 5001

static (inside,outside) tcp interface 5001 10.0.0.254 5001 netmask 255.255.255.255 0 0

static (inside,outside) udp interface 5001 10.0.0.254 5001 netmask 255.255.255.255 0 0

access-group SLINGBOX in interface outside

I assume this looks fine. If so my problem lies elsewhere ..

grc.com shows that port 5001 is open

Are you seeing the hitcount on the ACL being incremented?? Are you obtaining an ip address via dhcp for your Internet connection??

Actually Yes I am seeing a hit count when I run a show access-list command. That is why I was confused on it was not functioning as expected.

However I resolved this issue. I simply had to "reset" the Slingbox device. I was questioning myself on the access-list commands as I am a bit rusty - thus why I posted it to this forum where as the folks here have a more of a clue then I do 😉

Thanks for replying!
