    <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;Sounds like your using sub interfaces.  &lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Make sure your physical interface is not shutdown.  If it is down your sub interfaces won't work until the physical is up.       <title>ASA no shutdown problem</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I have had the following problem before but I cant remember what I did. Could anyone help.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;My vlan1 inside interface is set to administratively down. and when I ping its says inside interface is shutdown.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I have tried issueing the no shutdown command but it does nothing, and the interface is still set to shutdown.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I seem to remember it being this version of the asa software where you have to issue a command other than no shutdown.
