I have these two files taking up GB of space on the CiscoWorks VMS box. I can not seem to find how to purge or manage these files. Any help would greatly appreciated.

Under no circumstances should the *.log file be deleted. Its part of the database itself.

Usually, running a database backup under VPN/Security Management Solution will shrink the size of your transaction log. Its a good idea to run regular backups of your database anyway and it will shrink down your log file.

You didn't mention what version you are running but there are similar documentation links for all the IPS MC versions. Here's one for the 1.2 version:

http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/rtrmgmt/cw2000/mon_sec/secmon12/ug/ch07.htm

To late I already deleted the log file. I read somelese's note where they stopped the Daemon service and delted the log file. I did this then used the IdsDbCompact Utility. I again ran out of disk space and this is a 57GB drive. Guess I will see what mess I just created. Arggggg
