Firepower Management Center Licensing

I have a customer that already bought Virtual Licenses (6pc FS-VMW-10-SW-K9). He also bought 6pc of ASA5525-FPWR-K9, but it seems he will continue to growth, maybe more than 25 sensors

The customer is wondering to buy the FS2000 (up to 70 sensors), can the virtual license be migrated to the appliance license?.

Sincerely

As usual, mr. Rhoads is

As usual, mr. Rhoads is correct! (+5) Cisco does not have an upgrade/migration path for the FireSIGHT/FMC license. The rule applies for the Virtual instance as well. Thus, a new license would need to be purchased when moving from the 2 or 10 sensor version to the 25. This is why it is critical to size the FMC appliance correctly from the get go and include future growth.

With that said, you/the customer can work with the local Cisco team and try to work some sort of credit.

I hope this helps!

Thank you for rating helpful posts!
