Hi,

My Firewall PIX 501 doesn't stop rebooting in loop. I can't access to the running configuration just in rom monitor.

Please find attached the log.

An internal error occurred. Specifically, a rrogramming assertion was

violated. Copy the error message exactly as it appears, and get the

output of the show version command and the contents of the configuration

file. Then call your technical support representative.

assertion "addr < e28f640j3_chipsize" failed: file "e28f640j3.c", line 224

snap_dump_to_flash(): Unable to write crash to flash.

Best regards

Guillaume

Guillaume, if you do not have smartnet obiously you will not have access to software downloads to try downloading a new fresh image as previous poster suggested, however, I do not believe codes all of the sudden get corrupted unless there is a software bug that could have cause hardware problems. If you do not have smartnet services you may still contact Cisco TAC services to see what options you have, perhaps they may allow software download or provide you with other reasonable options.

http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/687/Directory/DirTAC.shtml

Rgds

-Jorge
