topic VMS MC IPS recommendation in Network Security

Hello All:

I?m looking for a hardware recommendation specs to comfortably manage roughly 100 IPS appliances using VMS MC IPS.

Could someone offer any recommendation on VMS Server for Windows? I'm not necessarily looking for a minimum specs listed on support site but instead trying to estimate what type of hardware specs will be required for future expansion if needed.

Thanks in advance

You are right when you infer that the minimum specifications are usually not enough for VMS. It is a resource hog.

The best implementations I have consulted on have always used multiple processors and at least 4 gigs of DRAM. When I say "best" I mean that the program is responsive and at no time do you feel that the program is hung and a reboot is in order.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for your feedback. This definitely helps and I will keep it in mind when ordering hardware for it.
