I would like to know about the license API to integrate an Algosec solution with Cisco CSM. Does this license have cost or no?

The API license is only necessary if you want to use one of the 3rd party products mentioned above (or develop your own) to integrate programmatically with CSM.

For more details on the API for development purposes, you would go via the Cisco Developer Network.

I have just been looking at integrating CSM with Skybox, and the API License situation has now changed. It appears that in CSM versions up to 4.6 required you to purchase the L-CSMPR-API license, and there was no trial available (even though the Dev license is 90-days).

In versions 4.7 of CSM and above there is no a 90-day trial license you can acquire free from Cisco Licensing (email them).

In Security Manager 4.6 and earlier, there was no API evaluation license; both the developer license and the production license needed to be ordered explicitly by Cisco Partners who wanted to use the API.

Note: Beginning with Version 4.7 of Security Manager, a temporary license for the API is available from Cisco.

As for the capabilities of this API, the answer below says about sharing info, enable 3rd party programs to access information inside CSM, but does this API enable to change settings that will be applied to managed devices ?

Could not find a URL that clears this information.

I'd not recommend planning too much development based on CSM. This product is not a long term strategic platform going forward.
