    <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;Thanks for the link, it was helpful for other reasons, but doesn't address why in v649 sometimes the variables have parenthesis, and sometimes they do not.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;In v616, the variables did not have parenthesis, but in v649 some do (my original post had it backwards).  Is one way preferred in some/all cases?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>

Is there a benefit to the use of parenthesis?&lt;/P&gt;</description>

I think they started doing this just to make the variable more visually separated from literal strings.  I don't think it makes a difference one way or another.  Open one of the rules that doesn't have parenthesis, re-save the rule, and see if the parenthesis are added.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
