FMC in VMWARE and SRM

We have a Firesignt Management Center in VMWare managing Firepower modules at two DCs.

It looks like the original plan was to have a second one, and use HA - but this isn't available in VM.

If the DC failed that currently houses FMC, then the services out of that site would be failed over to the other DC. However there is no layer 2 across the DCs, and so this raises a problem with FMC.

We could SRM it over to the other DC, and reconfigure the management IP address, but I am assuming that it isn't that straightforward, as the firepower modules are expecting the manager to be at a different IP.

Would we need to re-register the modules and re-register them?

Is there another approach we aren't aware of?
