One of the factors is going to be the version of the FMC, and the hardware. If possible, ensure that the resources are dedicated to the FMC, not shared.

If after dedicating the resources, it is still happening, please open a TAC SR for further investigation as when this objects load, they load from a database and it might need to be pruned or there could be a potential bug.

hi,

We use FMC as a virtual appliance on vmWare (4 CPU, 16Gb RAM) and web intarface works rather slow, for example if an ACL page is openned it takes about 8 sec to download Object Management page or Events page...

Is it ok?

My customer had the same problem, then increased the resources for the VM, which made no difference.

Hi

I've had this issue with vFMC ever since, well ever. We're currently at 6.5.0.2 on an Azure 16 core, 56GB RAM and premium SSD VM and loading an ACL rule can take me a minute while CPU on the VM isn't moving much. Basically it was the same issue when I had it running in a local VMware. I've done a few attempts at getting help from TAC and my latest attempt ended up with a bug reference CSCvm73824 and some .cgi problem where the only advice is to limit the number of simultaneous users. Great.

Switching to a hardware FMC might be an option for me to justify the cost I have to be 100% certain I'll get an improvement and noone can give me that.

Regards

Fredrik

We had the same slowness in fmc post upgrading to 7.0.1 from 6.6.4. we had to restart the FMC processes by running below command.

> enter expert mode: expert

> navigate to admin user: sudo su

> root@FMC: /volume/home/admin# /etc/rc.d/init.d/console restart

wait till the processes restart and come up.

This did not rebooted our Fmc hence did without any maintance window. Hope this helps you all who are facing slowness in FMC GUI
