I want to replace a FMCv running version 6.2 with hardware FMC running version 6.4. FTD sensors are running with version 6.2 and registered with FMCv 6.2.
Migration script is available for only version 6.5 so what i have to do is to manually configure the policies in new FMC and de-register the FTD from old FMC and re register it with new FMC and push the policy from new FMC to FTD.

Any reboot required during this process ?

can you not wipe off the hardware fmc 6.4 and install fresh 6.2 and match the same patch you running on 6.2 vFMC. doing this will save you all the extra work. I guess new hardware FMC is not in production yet. so you can take this approach.

otherwise you dont have much option on table.
