Dear Nspasov,

2. The FMC will stop ingesting logs when the upgrade process starts. The 5508s will continue to log to their local storage until it becomes full. Thus, there might be some historical logs that are lost. As a result, it is recommended that you configure your devices to log to an external syslog/SIEM solution.

If the FMC upgrade is completed, the log stored on the 5508s local storage will send back to FMC or not?

Hi there:

1. No, there is no service impact on the 5508s while the FMC is doing the upgrade. The devices will continue to operate based on their latest configuration that was pushed from the FMC

2. The FMC will stop ingesting logs when the upgrade process starts. The 5508s will continue to log to their local storage until it becomes full. Thus, there might be some historical logs that are lost. As a result, it is recommended that you configure your devices to log to an external syslog/SIEM solution.

I hope this helps!

Yes, events that were captured on the Firepower devices will be passed to the FMC once it is back online.
