Bluecoat Proxy SG Replacement with Cisco FTD

Hi,

I am looking into option to replace Symantec Bluecoat Proxy SG to replace with Cisco Firepower Threat Defence

9FTD) 2120s. Current we Bluecoat as forward and reverse proxy and maintain white and black list plus all other functions like URL or content filtering , SSL interception.

Can we get all Bluecoat features in Cisco FTD 2120 so that replacement can be successful.

Please also high light if there any feature we will not be able to get in FTD 2120.

Response will be highly appreciated.

Hi,
As my opinion its not a good idea to use FTD as a proxy instead of Bluecoat.
FTD is not a proxy appliance, it can do url filtering based on IP & Users but you cannot get the elaborated view of logs & policy creations that can be done on a proxy appliance.

Hi,

So what I can see that FTD Support most of the proxy functions like web content/url filtering , ssl interception , white/black listing.

We are looking into its proxy functions only as we have concern how FTD will begave if it get request as proxy
